So I know you have to use a solid lifter for this ..is the easiest way gutting a stock one and putting a spacer in I also heard of using a nickel with a hole punched on it and put it on the lifter ? Or is there any 5.0 car that came with solid lifters that I can go borrow one from pick n pull,? Thanks for the help..

No offense but who told u u have to check piston to valve clearance with a solid lifter. Never heard that one before. Use what your planning on runing then check it with playdo or clay.

Use a stock lifter that's been gutted (no spring).

You will have to file the plunger down to get the lock back on and this will be the 20 thou for preload.

are u serious?? the kind of abuse a solid lifter was intended for, or high rpm. that converted lifter is not something i would take a chance on.the lil clip is gona take a real beating. not a chance a small amount of money could save in the long run.

i don't think he is converting them to solid lifters for full time use. he just needs them to check a couple of things out on his engine.
