Topic: whats the best way to install lt's on a chevelle

i know i know wtf am i asking this question for im helping my friend put his 454 in his 72 chevelle.the problem is once the engine is in there is no way the longtubes will fit i even tried to do it like a mustang undo the engine mounts lift the engine a little still no go so if anyone has done this to a chevelle camaro or any simular car if you could give your input that would be great

It has been a while since I worked on a chevelle but did you try removing the fender wells? that might give you the room you need hope this helps...

its not the fender wells thats the problem its the frame but thank you for your input

When we rebuilt the 454 in our 70 ss we had to lay the longtubes in the engine compartment than drop the motor in. [ February 04, 2010, 05:43 PM: Message edited by: ItzStock ]
