can someone tell me what can be making my 91,LX 5.0 ran sluggish please HELP. trying to get back on the road.

Have you done a full tune-up?
When i first got mine it ran sluggish and i did one consisting of:
Spark plugs and wires
Cap and rotor
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Oil,Trans,gear oil change
Cleaning of TB,IAC,and MAF housing with carb cleaner
Check VAC lines
Set Timing
After doing all that car ran 100x better and for note wen cleaning MAF make shure u take out sensor b4 cleaning the housing!! clean the sensor with electronic cleaner spray!! forget what its called but can be found at walmart in auto sect..

more information please.. When is it sluggish? When you accelerate? Cruising? High RPM? Low RPM? What mods do you have?

sound good at an idle but sluggish when i accelerate. no mods but cobra intake

when was it last tuned up? miles? is it a 5 speed? clutch slipping? there could be a lot of things. you need to supply some info on the situation.

i did a full tune up on mine and its still slow as dog shit but hey its reliable and i dont complain so ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Did u install the cobra intake or came with it? check for vacc leaks??

Did you change the fuel filter and check fuel pressure? What did the plugs look like when you pulled them?
If you still think the car is not running right then do a compression check on the motor.
If you think it is runnning cool then I would swap out the exhaust. The stock cat's, headers, and pipes are a big restriction.

does it have stock gears? and you need to check fuel pressure.

it has 3.73 in the rear and the fuel pressure is good. maybe i shound just rebuild the motor

fuel pressure is a #, not good or bad.
what's the vacuum?
what's the timing?
what's the compression in each hole?
it sounds like a vacuum leak, wrong fuel pressure/injectors/maf setup, or the timing is wrong to me.
