how old is your alternator & battery? check them
with a volt meter. if you don't have one, get em check
at kragen. my next guess will be the voltage regulator..
if that's going out your alternator will not charge the battery.

take your alternator off & get it tested, this is free at kragen.
the car dies cause the more stuff u have on the more charging volts you
need. this is why it dies at night, you have the outside lights on, probably
the dredio, fans kick in, when you brake the back lights come on. probably
more stuff but u get the hint. i know winchester auto can check
your voltage regulator for free, but u have to take the car there. they will
check it with the car on.

I had the same kind problem with my 87' just a few things to look at make sure the t.p.s. is working and set at the right voltage, check the e.g.r. valve, make sure the throttle plate is adjusted right, check the i.a.c. valve. if your alternator is good your battery should read 14 to 15 volts, check that all your vacuum lines are good with no cracks.

first thing first, check the basics which is the battery and alt. either of these items can be checked for free.

I have a voltmeter I can check it out for you, it only takes a couple of min, that way you don't have to remove it. Have you ever changed it? The reason I ask maybe you got an alternator with a lower amp AND it won't support all the electrical at night.
