Anybody know of a good shop in the Hayward area that won't try to rip me off to fix a simple exhaust leak?

no cats. leak is at connection of X pipe to borla Exhaust. i went to speedy on Saturday and they said my car is to low for thier lift.

i had the same thing happen to me but on my h-pipe..if you have clamps holding them together, its best just to have a shop take those off and weld it..My car is low too and I'd always scrape and rip the clamps off..Anyways theres a shop in san leandro called sutherland and sutherland on washignton ave by 143rd, and minute muffler in oakland across the street from the police station @ eastmont mall..both those shops fixed mine when it happened to me.

theres a shop in fremont on fremont blvd. called Garunteed mufflers and breaks. they do a really good job and it aint too expensive. hell hook you up.

I went there about 2-3 years ago. All the guy had to do was weld new tail pipes into my car. He was talking on his cell phone the whole time, backed my car into the vines along the fence, left fine scratches on my bumper that I had to buff out, and was very impatient.

Yup,
I just went there the guy is an ass with absolutley no customer service skills. I used to go there back in the day when it was owned by the older guy. The new guy acts like you owe him something. They wanted to cut off my flanges and weld a pipe in its place. Why so i can go back next time i need to smog? I also went to Speedy in Hayward & they said my car was to low. WTF! I think I know where i messed up while installing it. I tightened up the header bolts firts and then the rear. I think it tilts the X pipe when you do that. ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

I went there too back when it was owned by an older guy who was big Raider Fan. Did a complete custom exhaust for our Rod. He was even out there making sure everything was good.
Sorry can't help you on that. I remember I just had 3 guys holding it and we put the front and back almost at the same time. I know there is another muffler shop hidden right next to Dale Hardware off Thorton. If you are in the Dale Hardware parking lot you can see it over the fence to the right of the pet supply store. It's a bit hidden. I know they have been there for at least 8+ years so it might be worth a shot.

Try Downtown Muffler at Mission and A St. Just had them do a full system (including new mufflers) and it was very reasonable.
