when do I need to adjust the valve lash on my 347? I had the motor built like 2 years ago and have driven like 2k miles since. I was told that with a mechanical camshaft I need to adjust it once a year, how do I know?

If the motor was built to years ago and you're suppose to check them every year I'd check them before the next drive. It also depends on how you drive. if those 2000 miles were all stoplight to stoplight sideways to the next light, I would have checked them as soon as I brought it home the first day.

i just check it now... on new motor i check after about 100miles...then about 500miles...from there every 1000-1500miles... they shouldn't get out of adjust.. but i like to keep up on it..i have friends that go between 5000-6000 mile before checking.

nothing sounds wrong on the motor. Its just that Ive never adjusted them before but ill do some research online to find out how. all i know is I need a feeler gauge, set the 1st piston at tdc and adjust in firing order turning the crank 90 degrees before adjusting the next. does it sound right?
