I already changed the oil. Fully synthetic oil. (10w-40)
K&N oil filter.

I will put a cai later.

the car just turned 100k miles. It has kind of a rough idle. So I was thinking change the plugs.

its very simple to do a tune-up on those 4v cars. i have a 96'. go to your favorite auto parts store and pick up a set of autolite 764 spark plugs. they are the best for those cars. no need for iridium! they are a waste of $$. get some 5w30 of your choice and a filter. replace the air filter w/k&n or paper version. also, make sure you get a new fuel filter as well.

the coil packs don't need replacement unless they are causing a misfire. does the car have a CEL lit up?

no check engine light. just runs a little rough on idle only.

on a cold start up I hear metal noise so I put syntec 10-40 and one qt. of lucas stabilizer.

thanks for the input on the spark plugs.

on a cold start up.. the idle is not too bad. worse when its hot. Maybe 5-10% worse when hot compared to cold.

is it bad to run 10w-40 on a high mileage motor? or am suppose to keep running 5w-30? The guy in the auto parts store recommend running thicker cuz of the noise I heard on a cold start up.
