so i am going to install my NOS nitrous kit tomorrow and its not a full kit. I am going to only have the 2 solenoids( nitrous and fuel ), microswitch, lines, bottle, and relay. i was just wondering if you guys think i will be safe not using the fuel cutoff switch. I am putting it on a 91 5.0. What shot do you think i should use, and what should i put my timing at?

also as far as the jets, do i only use one for the nitrous or do i have to use one for the fuel also? any help is appreciated. O and i

You sure it is not two nitrous solenoids?

It is a wet kit, right cuz if not then it is a dry kit and those are two nitrous solenoids.

yes it is a wet kit, one solenoid is nitrous and the other solenoid is for fuel.

Well then you will definetly need a separate jet for the nitrous and one for the fuel.

My rule is 2 degrees for every 50 hp on stock 5.0 longblocks.

Id start with 75hp jetting (check their website if you are unsure of sizing) and go from there.

Make sure you have a new tune (plugs, wires, cap rotor and good engine grounds), some colder plugs (autolite 24s gapped at 32) and a hotter ignition (msd with rev limit,if you can).

I like to use a window switch and tie the ground into the fuel cutoff safety switch.

You got a decent fuel pump in it?

I set the base timing to about 8 degrees (pip out)for a 75 shot with the plugs gapped at 32 and base fuel pressure at 38psi. (put pip back in)

You can lean it out a bit but why?

Then up the jets if you have a decent pump or inline pump.

The ONE thing you MUST have in my opinion is a wide open throttle switch. I say this because I have just seen way too many nitrous backfires come from people rigging up the button and letting off the gas when the car gets sideways and staying on the button......creating a small bomb.

good luck, have fun.

I just put a dual stage nitrous express kit on my buddies stock 5.0 with valvesprings and f cam in it (tfs intake, headers, bolt ons etc).

Runs pretty good, lots of fun.
