how do u change the tranny oil on a 91 5.0? And where do you put the new tranny oil at?

there are 2 plugs on the side of the transmission... unscrew the bottom one and let it drain.. then either fill thru the top one or take off the shifter and fill from there... the trans is full when the oil level reaches the top fill plug...

Ok where are the bolts at at the bottom bottom and are they on the left or right and how much tranny oil should I put into it and u said take the shifter off at the top and put it in from there kinda confused and thanks for the help bro

both holes are under neath the car on the passenger side. Unplug the bottom one(You can use a 3/8 rachet to loosen the bolt, after its empty,plug it back in. unbolt your shifter (4 bolts) and add 2 1/2 quarts

above the bottom - kinda off to the side a bit -but same side.
to fill from that point - kragens or pep boys sells a pump that you screw onto the tranny fluid bottle - then pump into top hole - fill until it comes out [patriot]

never did it through the shifter but that seems alot better than doing it on the floor haha those pumps never seem to keep me clean.

do it through the side..not the top at the shifter...

+1 those pumps are messy [Big Grin] , but i've never heard of putting it from the shifter? sounds cleaner lol
