Topic: turn signals dont work

i have a 1990 gt mustang and after i changed to transmission from an auto to a manual my turn signals stopped working. i changed both of the flashers and still nothing and the fuses are good too. anyone have any ideas on what else to look for?

simple unbolt the cover that goes over the ignition tumbler. Then theres 2 screws that hold it in place. Unplug the connector and install.
Ford might have it but pick n pull or junkyard is your best bet.

well what i don't get is why it would be that because everything else works like my high beams,windshield wipers all that stuff works its only my turn signals that don't plus i was about to get it and its like 150 so i want to make sure thats it

The turn signal switch gets a lot of wear and tear, so it eventually will break down. You might be able to test it by finding the wires at the bottom of the column, and connecting them together to see if the signal engages. You'll need a wiring diagram to find the right wires to cross.

check the flasher first.
any old autoparts store should have both for fairly cheap.
but again, check the flasher first.
much cheaper.
you can test the switch with a volt-ohm meter too. a haynes or chilton manual(which I assume every novice mechanic has) should be able to tell you how.

so i just bought a new switch and it still does not work and i changed both of the flashers so i have no idea what can be wrong any ideas?

WHEN YOU FIND OUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW CUZ I'VE DONE EVERYTHING YOU DONE AND MINE "STILL" DONT WORK I BEEN USING MY FLASHERS TO SWITCH LANES 4 EVER LOL

well actually i just found out that my steering column is not getting power so i must have a bad connection or something...so i guess i have to find it yay.

The horn and cruise control (if you have it) are a different circuit. The signals have their own power. Check the fuse and the wire.

CAN I BRING IT TO YOU...! LOL I CAN DO PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING MECHANICALLY TO A CAR BUT I HATE ELECTRICAL... BUT I'LL CHECK THAT THANX AGAIN

yeah everything else works but my turn signals so i have to figure out which wire it is then trace it everywhere....i hate electrical crap
