Posting for a buddy.
He's having a rattle sound right where the cats are and it only makes the sound after decel........while not moving you can hear the noise even more than when on the road.
My theory is that the inards have broken into a chunk or pieces and are being compressed by the exhaust gas speed and once you let off it loosens up and rattles in the cat housing.
Anyone have a similar problem or does my theory sound WAY off ?

I had the same problem and it was the cat. he needs to pull the H pipe off and check to see if there are chunks floating around.

The pipes are coming off this weekend but i can see some particles already coming out the tailpipes and some white sooty looking stuff ![[Mad]](mad.gif)

Had both cats go bad in a bassani X i was running. 1st came the rattle, then it would affect performance and sound, finally got pissed and just went WOT for about 20 seconds and POOF, white cloud went pouring outta the exhaust, then vioala, x-pipe with hollowed out cats...LOL! Now running Magnaflow X with hi-flow cats.
