right now i have a 85 gt convertable that i am using to race.... I also have an 89 gt hatch siting in my driveway with a blown motor.. I was wondering if the hatch would be a better car to make into a drag car? Is it lighter? Also how easy would it be to swap the EFI for a carb? What would i need to do that? Or would it be better to buy a manifold for that car? I dont want to start a carb vs EFI war hereso just stick to the questions

the hatch, way more structurally sound(had a solid roof)and its safer if you happen to roll it. the vert's body is gonna flex like a motherfukker without a cage, sub frame connectors and tons of reinforcement.

I've seen a 92 Drop Top in Mustang & Fast Fords, White with Porno red interior, stock crank/rods, .30 over forged pistons, Edelbrock Performer heads, Typhoon Intake, with all supporting mods and a built Lentech AOD, Vortex SQ-Trim Anderson Powerpipe, pushing about 15LBS of boost, thing ran mid 10's all day, it was a drop top GT also. Not an LX, your LX Hauls Ass as it is. I'd say keep that drop-top. You already know it's solid and just make the right suspension, engine mods. And you should be in the right track for a fast car.
