My driver's window when fully up hits the outside pillar, I popped off the door panel and found the problem:
 -
the black guide piece should be attached to lower part of the window with adhesive and was slipping out when the window rolls up causing it to hit outside pillar not allowing the door to shut. It was partially attached but I removed it scraped off as much of the old glue and tried using epoxy but it did not adhere.

What type of adhesive is used to keep the window in this track? I'd like to try to fix it myself if possible. Does the window need to come completly out of the car? If so I don't know how.

Wow I've never seen that. What kind of apoxy did you trying useing? I'd go to Dale Hardware, Homedepot or some place like that to look for an apoxy that will bind glass to metal. I'd be interested in knowing what to use in case that happends to me.

Post your findings in the event no one here has an answer.

At some point in time, some one did a piss poor repair on your mustang because the door glass is secured to the regulator with rivets, not an adhesive.

so their should be holes in the window to allow for rivits? the glass on the window says AUG 00 leading me to believe it's the original glass installed from the factory. And when I popped the panel I did not see any sign of it being off before.

I've replaced door windows a couple of times and both times they had rivits there.

good luck! Personally I'd just replace the glass from another door, it takes 30 mins once you've got the panel off to that point.

the front window stop bracket on 94+ is bonded to the glass with an adheasive from the factory.
Save your self much headache and swing by an auto glass shop as they will have the proper adheasive to rebond this back to the window. Without this stop in place the window will travel to far upward causing the problem you described. Most will do this for no charge / very minimal.

We used an adhesive that window shops use to install windshields. It would have worked but I did not let it set long enough before driving and it came out. It was too tacky and messed up to rebond it.

When I had the window replaced they said that's what they would have used to readhere it, because if it didn't bond with that than it's done. So next if anybody has this pick up that product and let it sit over night and you should be fixed.
