Hey,
I put my headers on (thanks jmoney347!) hoping that they would stocp my exhaust leak, but its still there, It sounds like it could be coming fronm the O2 pump hose on the H-pipe but it won't do it at idle so the guys at the muffler can't find it.
anybody else have this problem?

Why not stay inside the car and slightly rev the motor while the guy at the muffler shop listens for it?

Could it be a valve tick? Get one of those stethascope things and start checking around the head.

Trick I've used when I don't have anyone else around to blip the throttle,...
If you have a code scanner and scan the car KOER it will raise the idle up and down more than the normal 900-1000 rpms...I think 1500-2000. Then you can check by yourself for the leak while the car is raising and lowering the idle during the scan. Your not looking for codes your just making the car idle higher for you.

What kind of exhaust gaskets are you using? Did you completely clean the mating surfaces between both headers and head? A ticking sound usually comes from a leak at the header gasket at the head, so there's a great place to start.
It shouldn't be a valve tick suddenly appearing, unless you recently readjusted all the valves. The lifters take up the slack in the preload - the only way a valve *might* make a ticking sound would be a low-oil situation, and even then it would be a lifter noise.
Good luck, keep us posted

The gaskets are Mr. Gasket from Kragen, but the stock headers still had the stock gaskets!!
I replaced the stockers cause I thought thats where the leak was (and 'cause I got a great deal on the BBK's)
The noise has always been there since I got th car, putting on the BBk h-pipe made it louder but its coming from the same spot and its the same pitch as before.
It dosen't do it at idle, and I tried revving it while my buddy got down there but it didn't do it then, It only does it under load, its really noticeable when I first start off too.
I used a long screwdriver to my ear on the valve cover but I just hear normal valve noise.
Also, I don't think its a ping cause I retarded timing back to 10 deg and it still did it, and im using 91
thanks for the help guys!
