The King cobra cultch im my 93 is not releasing all the way. I have a adj clutch cable from upr and tried to adjust it every way possible. I dont want to fry this clutch since it has less than 1000 miles on it. Also, when you free rev the motor at 3500+ rpm it makes a noticable vibration. When i put the car into any gear or put the shifter close to any gear the rpms jump 500 rpm higher than idle and then holds about 250 rpm higher than idle. Any sugestions would be helpfull, thanks - Will [ March 29, 2006, 01:32 PM: Message edited by: illwill510 ]

get rid of the adjustable clutch cable, get an OEM ford clutch cable.

I ran into almost exactly the same problem. It would go from the extremes of not releasing enough, to slipping, to the adjusting nut popping off while driving I had the adj. cable, firewall adj. and billet frpp quadrent.
my clutch cable setup is with the frpp billet quadrent, steeda firewall adjuster, and OE ford clutch cable. It is now set absolutely perfect and I have tons of adjustment available on the firewall adjuster.

no matter what cable you have, you can always adjust it by the going under the car and adjusting it where the cable and the tranny connects. its just more convenient by the firewall.

yes, I would pick up the firewall adjuster though, the stock setup uses adjustment on the plastic quadrent to take up slack as the clutch disc wears.

the clutch cable has nothing to do with the problem. I disconnected the cable from the clutch fork and started the car in nutural. Then i put the shifter next to each gear (without actualy puting it in) and the rpms still jumped up. So this would eliminate the cable. Any ideas??
