Hey wassup guys!! I need some help!! Well I started my car last night after work and it sounded like it struggled to turn on. I look at the battery gauge and it was very low. The next day my car wouldn't start, so I checked the battery and I discovered that one of the wires was corroded because I think I might have spilled some power steering fluid on the part of the wire that connects to the battery. I sanded it down and jump started my car and it started, but the battery wouldn't charge up all the way. It just went a little bit over the red line and wouldn't move any further. What do you guys think the problem is? Do I need to change the wire that was corroded? Or do I just need to get my battery recharged?? It seems kinda wierd because I know it could also be the altenator, but it seems wierd that the altenator would go bad the same time the wire gets corroded....Please help me out guys!!

change the wire, get the battery tested and charged.

Check the cells. Maybe one or more of them has dried up. My battery did the same thing and it was only 4 months old. Distilled water only

ok...looks like one cell was dead so I got a new battery, but the voltage reading is like 2 line above the first red line...Is that normal??

I'd say middle or little higher than middle of the gauge is normal...yet from what I hear the fox gauges are all shit anyway and only give you a general idea of the readings.
