My car was in an accident several months ago. I am now just getting time to look it over. It rear ended a large truck(parked) . I would describe the initial damage as a crushing of the hood in a downward direction. The bumper cover had slight damage as well. However, the headlights and below were untouched. Aside from the sheetmetal, the hood latch and area was twisted and pushed back a couple of inches. Question: Is this part usually pulled out/straightened? Or, Is it easier in all cases to replace? Personally, I think that another piece from another car would look much better in the end. Does this sound like an easy job to do at home?

the core support requires being cut out, and a new one welded in
i had a theft recovery , '89 notch roller complete minus motor/trans
a guy didn't buy it cuz the core support was bent...i was after $500 and he drove to fresno from frisco w/ a trailer.
so that gives an idea of what he didn't want to do.

If there isn't a crease in the support, it can be pulled and still be structually sound. If it is creased, you can change it...but you better be damn good with your welding skills and even better with your measurements before you cut!
