I am just curious what symptoms you've seen when you get a code 34?

I have code 34
car will buck on the freeway at cruising speeds sometimes really bad and sometime not. Will bog when starting from a stop...hesitation. As for it being my EGR I don't think so. I think I have a vacume leak.

I found a hose on the back of my intake completely OFF when mine was doing it. I haven't driven the car since I found that so I don't even know if that was the problem. Sounds like your PCV valve has pulled out of your lower intake.
I've checked all hoses and i haven't found any problems. I do want to pull the upper intake and put some new gaskets on there and check to make sure my intake gap isn't leaking but i didn't have this problem before so i think its just something thats bad.

My pcv is brand new...put it in with my new intake but I guess it could be that. It's such a loud hisss sound too. Do the fit snug or you can pull them out by hand. I think I remember it kinda just ploppin in there.

i think it should fit snug in there. It might even click in i haven't messed weith the PCV for a while. You can pull them out by hand

It's a valve that diverts LMAO. Its vacume related. If it's clogged or not working properly it might give some of the same symptoms. I'll take some photos of mine when I get home.
Your egr sensor might be bad...not the egr but the sensor.

Your egr sensor might be bad...not the egr but the sensor.
i have two extra sensors as well but the sensor on there is pretty new.
This is pissing me off i just drove home and it wasn't a relaxing drive. It was hesitating and all that stuff the entire way home. I am gonna replace the EGR tomorrow and see if that does anyhting if not it hasn't to be a vaccuum leak and i don't have any idea how i am going to find that since all the lines looked good.

Why do you think its a vaccum leak?
Does your idle go to shit after its warmed up?

Dana, don't assume that the code is what is causing all of your concerns. Go over the basics first, because the egr is not causing everything that you have described.
I will say it again, look at your plug wires. I would put money on 1 or more causing you grief.

Does your idle go to shit after its warmed up?
I'm assuming vacume leak on mine because of the hisssss sound and because like suggested the codes thrown may not be the culprit. Code 34 from my understanding is a pretty common code and many people pay little to no attention to it.
YES once warmed up the car would act up more ![[Mad]](mad.gif) I forgot to take a photo of my diverter valve....I doubt it is this though because I replaced mine and my car still did the same thing.
What about your fuel pressure reg and its hose. That is the hose on mine that was completely off the intake. ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)

I will recheck the vaccuum lines again today when i read the codes again
I am gonna repalce the EGR with one from hte garage(I'm not sure if the ones in the garage are good but i might as well try) If i still get the code i am going to pull the upper intake and check the gaskets and all the hoses running to it.
Oh by the way i know what the Diverter valve is, its the connector were a bunch of vaccuum lines connect to like the Master Cylinder and such.

OK i just ran the codes and i got Code 35. I looked in the book and i don't even know what any of those names stand for. It doesn't really give me an answer as to what is wrong.
Anyone know if whatever COde 35 is would make it hestitate and run kinda rough?

I will check the spark plug wires again when it cools down.
Today while adjusting the idle the vaccuum dropped to ZERO and the RPMs dropped to 500 when i was doing the Accessories on part of the adjustment

OK checked the spark plugs they are fine.
Also in another code book it said 35 is teh EGR sensor so i replaced it and i didn't disconnect the battery but it still ran like crap so what i am going to do is christmas day i am going to pull it into the garage the entire way and then tear about the upper half on the engine and check EVERYTHING.

opps thats what i meant i checked.
My dad thinks its the vaccuum sensor that runs the EGR vaccum. I replaced it once before but i am pretty sure that problem wasn't fixed when i did that.

hey man, i have the exact! same problem. this shit sucks, but anyways i put a new longblock in and it runs like crap, hesitates and bucks back and forth,etc. i also have a hissing noise when i shut the engine off and also sometimes when running. i cant hear the noise anywhere but directly on top of the upper manifold in the middle. but i know how you feel, i've checked everything from gaskets, seal, compression tests and im getting a code that points toward my 02 sensors. so if anyone could help us, thanks.

oh yeah, and i also have a small amount of oil/fuel in only my #7 and 8 cylinder ports on my lower manifold. and sometimes backfires through the intake.

Do you get any codes?
I got a code 35 last time i ran the codes and a guy on Corral.net whos been really help ful told me to disconnect my EGR sensor and drive it like that to make sure its not the EGR wiring. If i get a code 35 with it disconnected then i have a wire grounding, if it doesn't then its my EGR sensor.
The hissing noise isn't your PCV valve out of the intake is it? When mine came out it made a noise like a blow off valve when i would shut the engine off. Check all your vaccuum lines, since its a new motor that you just installed i bet its just a vaccum leak somewhere around the intake.

the only codes im getting is for my 02 sensors. my pcv valve does not make a sound, the hissing is only above my upper manifold. my pcv valve, i can just pull it out of the lower manifold pretty easy, but there is some sign of it sticking in there, but there is no clicking or it is not hard to take it out if you know what i mean. so i dont know, i have the stock intake manifold still on there with new gt40y aluminum heads so thats probably not the best thing but i dont see that causing this problem. the only thing i can think of is when i changed from the stock engine to the 306, with those heads and a trickflow stg.1 cam, my computer is screwing up.
