what's this? the little bracket thingy avove the brake lines..i've asked around noone knows... i've looked at pictures of people that have cleaned their engine bay and hidden all the wires but they alway leave that little piece... [Confused]
 -

what is unit? it's located on the passanger side. i've heard is for the ac unit? is that true? i no longer have ac.. can i simply remove it? there is a hose that goes to it.. what do i do with it in case i remove the it?

 -

Thanks.

first one grounds the hood when its closed, helps things not go *boom*

the 2nd, is the evap canister, it pressurizes the gas tank, and the other line goes to the upper intake manifold for vacume. Without it you'll throw a code and not pass smog.

yeah the EGR needs a vacume line, it comes from the passenger strut tower area, one of those sensors on the back of it (TAB/TAD).

also, is that pic post brake swap?

that coupler block under the ground strap is where your adjustable proportioning valve should go. I hope you read up on that brake swap and got everything!

of course if you went 5 lug with rear drums you wouldn't need that, I just assume you put rear disc on.

Only god knows what the cheese grater part is there for. The hood is grounded by two strong metal hinges. I think they wised up on 94+ cars and removed the cheese grater.

I went with rear disks.. i don't know what you mean by coupler block.
the car i got all the pieces for the brake set up did not have a an adjustable valve so i figured i didn't need one....
is this the piece you are talking about?

I guess i can get one from ebay or something..is it necessary?

asuming the coupler box is the brown thing connecting the lines together and where you should put the porptioning valve at.

also if you're in a parts ordering mood get one of these:

http://www.performancecenter.com/products/category_Brakes/productcategory_Pressure+Bleeder+Systems/searchtype_4123d/sortorder_AADA/mode_change/partnumber_MTP00101/?PHPSESSID=443d5a c100f1216b099de171c5a50eb2

brake bleeding takes about 5 minutes now [dance] by myself!

I think they sell the adj. prop valves there also

thanks blind. luckily for me.. i didn't have to do most of the stuff that was there..
i mean.. the whole rearend was taken from a donor car. so i didn't have to deal with it. just a straight rearend swap. and connected the brakes. i'm still lagging about the e-brakes.. i've just been busy.
the front spindles were already set with calipers and all.. all i needed to do was remove the old ones and just drop in the new ones..
the hardest part was removing and installing the new brake booster....
i guess i'll order the adjustable valve tomorrow.
thanks again.
what is bench bleeding?

yes.. i know i'm supposed to bench bleed it first.. but i don't even know what that is..
I just noticed that i'm gonna need an alingment pretty bad.. my driver side tire is poiting a little to the left(outisde .5") while the passanger is pretty straight.. [Frown]
hopefully i'll get all the parts on monday and have enough time to bleed the system and get this car aligned before sunday.

bench bleeding involves connecting lines from the output ports on the m/c, looped back to the top and then manually actuating the plunger rod in the rear of it until all the air bubbles are out of the fluid.

oh yeah, thats all done with the m/c OFF the car on a bench.

IMO - the $50 for a pressure bleeder and never having to do that makes it priceless [patriot]
