ok. we just finished installing a set of lower and upper control arms.. (special thanks to losbadgt for helping out and yohallin for holding the flash light [Razz] )

After taking the car for a quick test drive around my house i noticed that there was a ton of water/coolant on the street. carlos drove it and the thing still leaked.. we thought it was water from the muffler due to condensation since it was so cold.. paulo drove it and it was still leaking.
[Mad]
We parked it in my garage and there was a ton a water by the back of the block and some on the back passenger side of the lower intake.
[Frown]
we looked but could not find the place of origen.
Where/what are the possible place or things that could be cuasing this. please, i need help. i need to fix this tomorrow so i can take the car to the track on wednesday.
Thanks again.

it may be one the two hoses going to the firewall that are the supply/return lines for your heater core..

beat me to it, a hose clamp might be loose and just needs to be tightened.

[Razz] i dont like those stock clamps on the hoses that ford uses... just my personal opinion, I know that they are reliable and all... i just dont like them

i just checked those.. they seem tight.. it seems to leak under pressure... what else could it be?
I've always had this issue. the engine had the same problem when it was stock.
Someone else did the work for me and then the leak was still there but did not really bother me cause i could never notice i would just have to add water to the radiator every now and then.
The engine was then modified. the leak remained.. it was then swapped into this car and it still leaks..
any other ideas guys?

they might seem tight, but the hose it self could be damaged.. like cracked right where the clamp is located.
i think the only thing else thats back there are the cooling channels in the heads themselves.

the metal tubes that attach to the heater core lines that run along the lower intake could have rusted through from corrosian from the coolant, a pin hole leak from one of those would be hard to find.

really though, all you need to do is let the car idle up to temp when the coolant is pressurized and in an area with good lighting start exploring until you find it

If it is not the heater hoses then check the EGR spacer between the throttle body and intake. It could be leaking through the gasket or one of those little hoses that goes to the EGR spacer.

Why not pressure-test the system and find the true source of the leak, rather than guessing?

I believe they have a kit that replaces your radiator cap w/ a device to pump air into the system to pressurize it and force coolant out of any cracks or leaks in the system.

That was what they had years ago but not sure if they have a hi-tech device now-a-days [Razz]
