Hey guys, I have an 86 GT hatch and I can't get it to start! For some reason I don't seem to be getting any spark from the coil. I have a brand new MSD 6AL ignition box and MSD Blaster TFI coil and I have the MSD wiring harness so that the two can be connected without splicing anything.
I also have a Summit Battery Relocation, all my lightscome on and work, the car will turn over but it won't start, obviously cause the no spark thing. Can someone give me some ideas?
Oh, I also have brand new Ford Racing plug wires, SplitFire plugs, and MSD Pro-Billet distributor. Thanks in advance.

Try bypassing the MSD box and see what happens.

Tried that. I just went and bought a stock re-placement coil and still won't start.

are you checking for spark at the coil or at the plug?

Both! Neither have any spark. I'm thinking it might be the wiring somewhere, I'll get some pics and post them up of everything.

Sound like there is no power to the coil. Re check all your wiring and see if you miswired something. Also check all your grounds and make sure they are good as well.

Alright, no change! I don't know what the problem could be. Here are a few pics of my wiring:

Ok not trying to bash you here. But that thing could use some love. Take those yellow (house wiring) connectors off there and splice all the wires right. ie solder or at least butt connectors. I would go back and make sure all those connections are ok first.

yeah, one very important thing is to make sure that the conductor is being crimped, not the insulator. I see that kind of wiring mistake often enough and it causes havoc
