when you are not using a smog pump and no ac how do you run the belt around the watter pump or does it matter thanks

it does matter, but if you have the right size belt it will only go in 1 way.
try reversing it to how it was w/ the long belt (as on which side of the crank you go around)
if that doesn't work do it the other way

Im having a problem with it.does the belt go from the alt to the water pump or does it go to the alt to the crank thanks for any info

The waterpump is directly above the crank. The belt goes around the crank, then it goes up and over the waterpump on the RIGHT side, then makes a left turn and goes around the alternator, then it goes around the ac and PS after that and back to the crank.
