Hey yall,
New engine getting put together...
I just installed new FMS lifters, rods and 1.6 rockers (the blue ones)all stock sizes. I just went to put on my valve covers(stock) and found out that they arent fitting. They seem to be good everywhere except above the number one cylinder where the oil fill tube is.
At this spot there is an oil shield... if it were to come off, i think that everything would be ok.
Anyone ever had this happen? Any suggestions?

Thanks for any input!

Yep, with the stock covers the baffle has to come out and your probably going to have to grind a little bit to get the rockers to clear.

took the baffle out and placed the cover over it while rotating enging. Does not seem to be hitting.

Where would you be suggesting to grind down?

FMS sells valve covers that will clear roller rockers, but in order for most intakes to clear you need the plenum spacer.

No. It will be fine. Use the stock Ford valve cover gaskets.

Just remove the baffle. I run the FMS blue rockers with stock valve covers and .560 lift. Use the ford steel gaskest with the silacone beads.

So no baffle and no grinding.

You could take an air hammer and massage them a little bit. [Cool] That's what I had to do.
