Is anyone having any problem with the MSD-8456 pro billet distributor? This would be the the second one that has locked-up.I followed the instructions to the letter. Engine would run for 2min then start running like crap. Then the dirstributor would turn counter clock wise on its own?And the engine would stop. When I pull the distributor not only can you feel the heat. But you can see the heat spots at the base of the distributor. What am I doing wrong?

Check to make sure you have the proper cam gear on the distributor based on what cam your running. MSD distributors don't have a great track record for reliability from what I've seen. Also check to make sure your oil pump hasn't froze up.

Oil pump drive shaft is good. I just installed the original distributor and everything is fine. This is the second MSD distributor that took a dump.Did notice the MSD shaft is slightly longer than the original.
