What would be a Safe limit on a 3/8 Rocker stud on the cam size and the rest of the supporting staff of the valvetrain?

I think the stud size has more to do with how much spring pressure you have, which in turn is dtermined with how much duration/lift and how high you are spinning the motor. I've never really thought about this much, but I'd assume most setups would be fine using a 3/8 stud. Hopefully someone who knows a little more can clarify.

thats what I was thinking too, but I don't know enough about valvetrain to actually know what would be good. I assume you run 3/8's with your stage 1 cam. What kind of times do you run with your set-up?

Actually the car has not been to the track yet. I just got it all tuned and ready to go but then had to come down to San Diego for school and didnt bring the car. I'm guessing it will go 12.5-6 on the Drag radials its got. Over winter break though I'm planning a tubular front suspension, rear control arms, and real slicks hoping that it will go 11.9999999 [Razz] before I spray it [burnout]
And yes I am running 3/8" studs and they are fine, I'd guess that to actually "need" the bigger studs you'd probably have to be running a solid roller or something that has really heavy spring pressures.
