Topic: Powermaster alt. 3 wire hook up Q?

ok i want to hook it up as a 3 wire but i dont get where the three wires are. 1 power. and then it says to splice one wire from the exsisting harness to the 1 terminal on the alt. thats only 2 wires right or are they counting the one i need to splice it?

there's 3 plugs, but I think 4 wires on my 3G alt.
the smaller of the 2 factory alternator plugs is used, then the 4awg power lead, and the small white/black lead gets spliced from the larger factory plug onto a smaller plug for the 3g, I believe that is the voltage regulator plug.
