How much power can be obtained from this block? I have heard people say its not any stronger than the stock block. Looking for 425rwhp+.

It is fine for 425rwhp but then again so is the stock block. The Sportsman block is stronger than a stock 302 block but not but much...a waste of $$ IMO.

JeffS- How much more rwhp can the stock block handle? And can an R block pass emissions w/emissions legal supporting parts?

Stock blocks are usually good for right around 500rwhp. It all depends on the tune and your luck!

The R302 has no affect on emmisions.

nope
and a few of the sportsman block came apart at 450hp level, that is why it is much lower

and they didnt offer any kind of refund for the people that broke the blocks at 450hp, even though it was their(ford) mistake in not testing the block enough
