I am rebuilding my 302, putting it up to a 306. I have a cobra intake and will be getting some afr 165 or 185 heads.. or maybe even some trick flow twisted wedges. I have to do the smog thing so probably an E cam.

It looks like i may be ordering the rotating assembly from central coast mustangs. stock crank, 5140 forged I beam rods w/arp bots and probe forged pistons. The guy on the phone said that all that was the same stuff they use on there engine build ups in mm&ff magazine. Said the pistons with the afr 165's should get me a 9.3:1 compression..

Any comments on this setup?? Is there anyway to improve upon this(ie better pistons or rods)? what about rocker arms, 1.7 or 1.6??

any info would be great!
