Like it says im going to run a 75 shot through my stock block for a bit until I have enough to get the motor built.

The car has stock fuel system, what upgrades do i need to make to make this be as safe as possible? Keep in mind im having the motor built at big boy racing, fully forged, cobra crank etc. When its done getting built im going to run a 125 or 150 through it? So what do you guys suggest? As safe as possible. Oh yeah its going to be nitous express. thanks

u have to do nothing to make it work

to make it safe, get a bigger fuel pump and always always run 91 octane

and a fuel safety switch would be a nice upgrade to make sure the nitrous turns off if fuel pressure does drop for an unknown reason

and an rpm activation and off switch would be nice so u dont blow up the stock intake or anything else

100 shot on a 4.6 2 valve = an eventual nitrous backfire and bye bye intake manifold

Guess that shows how much i know about those motors w/ nitrous... Honestly though whats the point of only having a 75 shot, to me it really isnt worth the money if thats all you can run, but i guess if your trying to get every last bit of power out of your car i can understand...

remember its an nx kit, that is gonna be 75rwhp

shit 75rwhp is gonna add 35% to his rwhp, no bad for a minimum of $500 investment

i also just read his sig, its says u bought an s trim, why would u buy a nitrous kit when u have the strim, just slap it on and just use minimal boost until the motor is built

I did buy an s trim but my buddy is buying it this weekend... it was a used one that wasnt complete. It needed all the fuel system, injectors etc. With the money i get from it im getting my saleen rims chromed instead of white, new springs, cc plates etc. I also decided to go the nitrous route. I figured i could run a 75 shot through my stock block for a while till i save an extra 1500 for my forged motor.

100 + on a stock block doesnt last very long. I dont want to blow a rod before the new motor too. NX kits give you a real 75 which isnt that bad, that is a lot of extra horsepower... cant wait till my motor is done and i run a 150

i guess it makes sense, not what i would have done on a 4.6 2v but its not my car

on ur built motor, u do plan on getting a different metal intake right, because no matter what the stock plastic intake will not last more than one or two nitrous backfires

either get a bullet or foxlake p51 inake
the reichard one is nice but u need serious boost to need it

Yeah I need to get a new intank... i want the new p51 intank. How much are they running? Also why wouldnt you go that route? How would i eliminate nitrous backfire.. or reduce it to a very minimum

You just get unlucky sometimes with the n20, You could probably get a new upper plenum right now pretty cheap and not worry about it. just get the gen x2 upgrade kit and you'll be fine. I spray all the time. 75 shot right now and it is very reliable [Whoo Whooooo!]

there is a difference, it is easy to let fuel puddle in the 96+ 4.6's because its a small motor and the intake has so many tigh bends that the fuel just wants to puddle

basically just make sure that u never engage the nitrous below 3000rpm, and never hit the stock rev limiter while on nitrous

pm 98stangpower, he can tell you exactly what not to do [Big Grin]

He was running a WOT switch. You know the one that runs when the throttle body is wide open and it hits the switch on. Well he was having trouble catching traction so he back off the throttle thus disengaging the nitrous then getting right back on it again thus engaging the nitrous. This was a very bad idea and doing this with nitrous is never good and his intake manifold went BOOM. Apparently I have an easier motor to spray than you do.

Eric if this is the case with the fuel puddling up wouldn't it be in his best interest to use a dry shot instead of wet or better yet go with the NOSzle kit which seems to be really safe to use on the Modular motors [Confused]

yeah that makes sense.... but i think you will get backfire no matter what??? that noszle kit is nice but its real pricey at 1400 as oppose to the nx kit.. what do you guys think

I think if you want to do it right, it's well worth the price. The NOSzle kit that is. It's an investment that will save you money in the future [patriot]

a back fire will not hurt the p51 intake because it is metal, the stock intake is plastic

on less than 150 shot it would be hard to get a backfire with the p51 because of the straight throw design

I'd just put the 75 shot on, I don't think those 99 below mod motors can handle a huge shot, But I don't know much. I'm not really a mod motor guy. [Confused]

Two entirely different kits. The NOSzle it sprays in with you fuel injectors. The NX kit sprays in you MAF to TB tube. The GenX2 package is just an upgrade kit that includes stuff to get a more healthy and safer sht like bottle heater, blow down tube, fuel pressure safety switch etc. I suggest you further study the kits that are availible to you before you even think about buying one if you don't know this difference. I'd never putanything on my car if I didn't understand how it worked [patriot]
