Do any of you know where I can get a PCV breather? My PCV hose that connects to my intake lets some nasty shit re-enter the intake and when it idles for a looong time and I give it gas, I get some really nice white smoke out the back. Fords PCV design SUCKS ASS!!! [Big Grin] I just think this is something that doesn't need to keep happening and can easily be eliminated... but I don't know where to find this little breather! Any help from you guys is greatly apreciated.

I got mine from Vic Hubbard in Hayward....It was a K&N, but I dont know the number [Frown] ...If you go to any performance shop or anyone that carries K&N's they should be able to look it up for you....

Blowby gasses escaping from the piston rings need to be evacuated from the crank case unless you like lots of sludge and corrosive acids forming inside the oil pan and damaging the motor from all those blowby gases ruining the engine oil. K&N breathers are ment as a fresh intake path only and were never designed as an escape path for blow by gases. Eliminating a PCV system is not a good idea. If you are geeting exsessive blow by contamination in your intake, your piston rings may be worn out.

I wouldn't say it is excessive but I think your right about the sludgy part. I don't NEED the breather but I thought maybe it would help. I guess I will leave the PCV alone for now and see how it goes.

At the point where the blowby gasses and oil being sucked up through the PCV valve gets excessive, you are losing horse power....At that point you should put breathers on your engine OR fix the issues at hand and rebuild your engine with new piston rings....(Breathers are cheaper [Wink] )

CobraRacer46 is right about keeping the PCV system...PCV systems will keep the engine oil cleaner and is worth horse power because it gets rid of extra pressure that builds in your crankcase...

I installed breathers because the oil comming in the intake from the PCV valve was causing A LOT of pre-igntion...I would also change my synthetic oil too often anyway, so dirty oil wasnt a problem for me....
