Topic: Question about the TOB and pressure plate

I'm putting in my clutch and i have the flywheel and clutch bolted down. Now im putting on the bellhousing with the clutch fork and throw out bearing. This is my question when you put the throw out bearing on the clutch fork and slide it all the way back to wear it's snug it doesnt align perfext with the pressure plate arms. If i pull the throwout bearing back a little wear its not as snug it lines up perfect. Any ideas what i can do? I dont want to put it on and end up falling off.

Do you have the throwout bearing facing the right direction?....The big end should be against the pressure plate....Dont worry otherwise, the throwout bearing slides up and down the transmission input shaft bearing retainer and has no choice but to be lined up....
Do you have an adjustable quaderant?....When you are completely done with the clutch install just make sure that the throwout bearing is not riding on the pressure plate forks when you not even touching the cluch pedal....If it is it will prematurely fail....

Hey thanks for the reply. The TOB is resting on the pressure plate, how can i adjust it with the stock cable and quadrant?

The stock self adjusting quaderant adjust the freeplay automatically....All you have to do is depress and lift the clutch several times to allow the self adjusting mechanism to properly set the free play...You can do that with your hands or by using your feet...You should hear a click when you do this...
You might want to adjust it after you break in the clutch(around 400 miles).....
