are these things worthwhile? would it be best to get one or both? I have an 88 5.0, and I'm going to put on the HO upper intake, TB and EGR plate. I was wondering if it would be worth the time and $ to get one or the other (or both) of those spacers. Summit has both of them, for not a lot of $. The TB spacer has a kind of "tornado" effect that makes me think it's another gimmick, though. also, which would you guys recommend in phenolic spacers, 3/8" or 1"? as in, is there a drawback to the bigger size?

If you're gonna buy a TB buy a 65mm Ford Motorsport...It comes with new sensors and the EGR block is 67mm...On a stock motor a TB is probably worth 8hp...

I wouldnt waste your time with a phenolic spacer...They work great at disapating heat, but sometimes require notching the hood for clearence...Adding different thickness spacers to the intake increases the runner legth making the power band change slightly...Basically, your money is better spent somewhere else...

I dont know what you mean by HO intake...I know HO means High Output, which every 5.0 Mustang since 82 has had....

oh, haha, forgot to mention that I have a Tbird, not a stang. it's got the SO 5.0. I was going to get the stock HO TB and EGR, since I have practically NO money to spend and I can get those parts for $20. I already have the upper manifold cleaned up and painted nice.
