Should I get a flush thing, or just drain the fluid and then pour in new?

How dirty is your old coolant? If its not too bad, then don't bother with the flush.

I always flush my radiator and block...
*With the car running, all I do is stick the garden hose, from my house, into the upper radiator hose inlet on the radiator...Then I leave the upper radiator hose that comes off the thermostat housing on and let the water/coolant flush out and run down the driveway....(be careful about letting coolant run down the driveway, its illegal)
You have to remember that the thermostat will stay closed with the cold water from the garden hose...Just take your time and hook the upper radiator hose back up (one hose clamp) and let the engine warm back up...
If you dont flush your coolant system and just drain the radiator you will still have setiment/shit/grunge left in the block....You want to run your heater too, so you clear out the heater core...
50/50 mix-1/2 water 1/2 coolant and then some Red-Line water wetter has always worked the best for me...

Shit man why cant I just let it run out in the bottom of the radiator? Un cap it, put the hose in there. Will that work? [ November 07, 2003, 04:42 PM: Message edited by: Black88GT ]

Savin, Back at ya! What I did, was let it run with the drain unplugged, and new water in. Its coming out clear. Ill drive it like that tomorrow(all water), then drain it all out and then add the antifreze and water. Does that sound like a ghetto ass home made flush or what? Will this do the trick? Thanks:D
