HELP!

We started pulling my AOD for an AOD to T5 swap. Everything was going smooth until the starter was up.

We got the lower starter bolt, it was slightly stripped. Then we went for the upper. It kept slipping with the correct size socket.

What I need to know is, the bolt is done. It's STRIPPED.

is there a way to get that bolt off of there quickly...Without hurting the tranny...? [Confused]

I hate stubborn bolts [Mad]

Do you have enough room to squeeze something in there to cut the end of the bolt off with? Then you could tap into it (with a drill) and break it free and get it out.

Actually, now that I think of it. I'm going to try dremeling the head of the bolt off. So that I can get the tranny out from the car. Then I'll easy out the remaining bolt inside the transmission case. Awesome. I hope it works! [patriot]

Cut a slit in it with the dremel and use a power driver to back it out.

I'm not having any luck at all with this damn bolt. It's getting me so angry.

The dremel bit was 14 dollars and it just broke, this bolt is insane.

I'm going to buy some stronger bits, and hopefully I'll get this thing off by tonight. Thanks for the suggestions!

I imagine you probably already tried it but can you get a good clamp on the remaining head with a good set of vise grips?

I tried everything. But just lastnight the last thing I tried. I couldn't get one, but someone let me borrow one. A die grinder works best in this situation.... [patriot]
