i have a 92 stang it has ..............................030 over pistons a z303 cam trick flow heads the twist wedge and they are 2.02x1.60 the car has 1.7 ratio rockers and a cobra intake a 70mm throttle body and 24 lb injectors and has a n after market candl mass air flow meter . now heres the problem i took the uper intake off to change the gasket for the heck of it and while i had it off i decided to upgrade the throttle bodyfrom a 65 mm to a 70mm. now its all back together and when i start it up it has a surging idle only on start up when u bump the key it starts and surges between 1500rpm and0 sometimes then cuts out! heres the other twist it really only does it when warm or hot when i got to work in the mournig its fine and when i go home its fine but if i drive it home start back up here we go again! it never did this with the 65mm throttle body all vaccum lines are hooked up it has a new iac motor and i even tried the throttleposition sensor and that was new and i some told me to drill out the holes to adjust the tps but the stock holes are already longated! and that didnt work it turned it to the right. and i tried to adjust the butterfly opening screw no result! so is the mass air may be too small for the 70mm throttle body? or do i have to drill out the tps to get more adjustment?im totally lost and its on a car im trying to sell and i thought id help out the next owner with a couple more upgrades but it backfired if u have any ideas or ideas of who to ask or know some one in or close to the vallejo aera to help m? or even a shop that works on stangs or someone at a shop who knows about stangs whatever i need help please!

are you using a volt meter when adjusting the tps? it needs to be around .9 volts, if its out of range, the tps may have gone bad. when i changed my TB, it was one of the most troublesome mods ever

Taken from Corral.net's amazing forums..

1. Disconnect the battery

2. Take apart the 10 pin connectors.

3. Get a small nail and slightly crimp the female side of the connectors, this will help tighten the connectons. Do this on the complete assembly.

4. Put di-electric grease on the male side of the connectors and reassemble.

This is the fix for a stuck/high/surging idle. Example: You pull up in the driveway or to a stop light with the clutch in and the car idles it self up to 2K or 3K rpms and then stays there, then finaly drops down when it wants to. Or, your driving down the road, push the clutch in, and the car stays at whatever rpm you were at when you went to make the shift for more than a sec or two.

The 10 pin connectors are black and white plastic connectors that go between the main wiring harness and the fuel injector harness. They are located at the firewall end of the intake.
