I wanted to Start a Topic about places where People who enjoy working on there cars should not go because they Get either shitty service or Unnessary charges.
I just put some new springs/shocks with front coil over Kit, MM c/c, and some New whells And I got Robbed By THE WHEEL WORKS in Santa Clara On Duane AVe Next to Golds gym. They qutoed my $53 for an Alignement, when I got there they tacked on another 30 dollars cause I had 18 inch ri ![[Mad]](mad.gif) ms and then they charged me $70 More for Caster camber plate ajustment to set my aligment "to the best angle possible" steering wheel still pulls and shity service. an1 have places where we should avoid.

This is a broad area of the automotive industry that is never explained in the correct way that it should. Chain stores want you to go to their stores for that 49.95 alignment for your car. He lies the problem. You have to ask them what that "aligment" includes before signing any work order. Most of these types of shops include the set up fee, print out of the current set up and then adjust toe (the relation of distance in degrees or inches between the front tires). Other necessary adjustments are extra and thats when you get that phone call that they need more time (more money). I dont know of any late model vehicle on the road today that doesnt require at least 2 hours of "factory" book time. Most shops are charging from 65-120 dollars an hour-figure the math on that one. On the good side, dont they offer life time alignment? I dont understand the extra for the 18 wheels. Most updated head units for the alignment machines do up to 20 inch wheels without using adapters. And even if they do need adapters, never seen anyone charge extra for that. It takes two seconds to bolt the extensions on. Do you have a print out of the alinment so I can tell you if they at least did a good alignment? Suggestion to go to Custom Alignment and have them set the car up. They are used to all out race cars to mini vans and they specialize in suspensions. My two cents.
