My neighbor claims that the best mod I can do for my car is traction bars or some shit made by Lakewood called Traction Action. Says it'll make my car hook up hella better. So what's the deal does this cat know what he's talking about or is he full of shit. I have my reasons for not trusting him but I figured I'd ask you guys anyway. [patriot]

just get some good uppers and lowers like blown said, and put some nittos on when those tires wear out, nittos are the best for traction but they will give a lot more life than bfg's, and since its not a drag car

with the nittos u should be solidly into the 13's, might start lookin at a rollbar

also how has the car been treaten u, it was cool when i had it, hope its still runnin strong

yeah it runs really strong, only things I've had issues with is that the fuel level gauge doesn't read the right level until the car heats up(almost ran out of gas the other day)and then I popped the hood for my friend to check it out and while the engine was running I noticed that plug wire #7 was a little loose so I've been trying to get it to push all the way on but I'm having issues cause the piece that holds the dipstick up is in the way. other than that it's been really fun. are u sure the plug wire is loose, because if it wasnt on all the way the engine wouldnt sound right or feel down on power, and when i drove it for the short time with u in it without the charger, it was definetly not missing a beat, when those plugs wires went on they felt funny but i could get them any further and i never had a missfire

man u had a weird thing with the head light switch and the fuel gauge, i never had a problem with either, but hey, atleast the car is faster that the old auto, and u havent rolled it yet [Big Grin]

yeah It wasn't missing but it wasn't completely over the plug, like once every 10 seconds or so a spark would shoot out of it but my brother put some muscle into it and got it all the way on. I think I'll need a new clutch soon thoug. I'm not having trouble really I think I'm still just riding it too much. I love it though, wouldn't trade it for the world [patriot]

that clutch has about 2k miles on it, it has tons of like left in it, when i replaced the tranny the clutch looked brand new, and the flywheel surface is perfect, no burns or other crap, looks like it had been surfaced that day, u might just be riding it to much

Look for HPM Megabites or Maximum motorsports control arms, glad to hear the car is treating you right, that was my old engine from my 91! I loved that car! Tell your neighbor to [worship] your car but youll handle the upgrades! Though he was kinda on the right path, just for an older car! [Big Grin]

298.7rwhp, 2700 lb car...factory five upper and lower control arms, eibach launch kit, 90/10 lakewoods in front, 50/50 in the rear, air bag in right rear, no sway bars, and a set of Lakewood Traction Action bars. On a set of 28 x 10.5 ET Drags pulled a best of 1.58 sixty foot...

added a 'rated 150 shot' which was a max of 100 or 110 to the rear wheels...went a 1.46 sixty foot and 1.48/1.49 all day long.

Lakewood tracion bars are basically lift bars...Lift bars work with axle torque/wind up to lift and load the chassis which forces the wheels downward "planting the tires", transferring power to the pavement and eliminating wheel hop for improved traction and straight line launch.....

However, I think a set of LCA's with solid sperical bearings at each end and a set of udjustble UCA's would be better...LCA's with sperical bearings would reduce axle wind up cuasing the car to react quicker...The sperical bearings also allow proper articulation of the rear suspension which reduces the chance of torque box damage..

Hope this info helps you with your neighbor..
