Gotta 73 Mercury Marquis 429/C6, need to drain the tranny and stock converter (drain plug on converter). Chilton doesn't tell me how many quarts to refill.
Is the Mercon 3 ok to use? Can't find Type F anymore.
Also, any tips on adjusting the intermediate band? My torque wrench doesn't go as low as 10 ft. lbs. Should I just buy a 3/8 drive torque wrench?

The Dex III may make your car shift a bit softer. I never noticed a difference between the two. Some brands (Mobile) list their ATF as both Type F and Dex III.
