hey has anyone heard about the new smog thing? its gonna suck. everything has to be stock or you will not pass. even gears will fail you. they strap you to dyno to simulate "real conditions" The only way you will pass is if you register your car as a custom.

LOL, not true. It isn't that bad at all! Gears will NOT fail you.

i keep hearing different stories, anyone have the real info? is the visual going to be the same as now or is it going to be more strict? i know the sniffer will be a little harder

LOL, if it was as bad as he stated I would move my ass out of Cali
NO WAY DO GEARS HURT SMOG. I talked to my friend who is a MT and he said that if you passed easily before you will not have a problem now. It did get a little more sensitive, but nothing that is too harsh.

I think if anything gears will help you since they'll increase the RPM's and reduce the load the engine sees. I've passed on the dyno smog two years straight.

My car has always been sent to the test-only stations.... , which are way more expensive. But they slap it on a dyno and it passes just fine.

Do they still do an idle test? That's where I have the most problems.

Nope, just 15 and 25 mph. This should help guy with aftermarket camshafts out a lot!

No idle test??? My F cam will pass with no problems then!
