this is what u need to try if u car still wont crank over, take a small piece of wire about 6 inches long with both end having bare metal showing (stripped clean)

ok, now that u have looked at the starter solenoid enough, u know that there are three hookups, one large one for the + battery cable, one for the starter lead (obviouly a big probably black wire that goes to the starter), and one more small wire that connects to the small post, this is the wire that comes from the ignition switch, disconnect that wire and let it dangle out of the way

now take the 6 in wire and touch one end to the + battery hookup on the solenoid and touch the other end to the small hook up on the solenoid for the ignition switch wire, if that doesnt make it crank over, the new starter solenoid is bad, if it does crank over, turn the igniton key on, and repeat the process, the engine should start, if it doesnt, then u know u have bigger problems that i dont want to get into over the internet

if my test works that means that the igniton switch wire is fried, this wire goes form the solenoid to a switch on the clutch that only lets u start it when the clutch is in, after that, it goes to the ingnition key switch
good luck and have fun [patriot]
