Unless you want your car to be really loud, you will be losing horse-power by taking off your mufflers...(no back-pressure) [patriot]

yeah if you want loud and power and you don't give a rats ass about smog get some long tubes headers and an off road pipe and your favorite sounding mufflers. Mustangs are designed for backpressure. taking out the mufflers period is not a good idea. Some on this site will tell you you lose power if you use dumps but it can't possibly be much if any to worry about. I went with the dumps and that made the car sound that much better. All I have is the off road pipe and two chamber flows dumped and it is plenty loud. Definately go with the O/R H and don't go with the straight pipe idea. By the way...my car is loud as all hell and I have no trouble with the Po what so ever!!! [patriot]
