I have a 90 5.0 with an AOD tranny. This is the first Automatic mustang i have owned and i dont know much about autos. I was wondering what torque converter stall speed means. I want to change my converter but i am wondering what stall speed to get. I am planning on getting 3.73 gears and a GT40 crate motor later on. I want to keep my car streetable since it is a daily driver. Also how much will it cost to install the conerter at a shop or is there anyone out there that can do it on a weekend?

I used two converters. When I just had gears and a shift kit I had a B&M 2400 holeshot. It was better than stock but not what I was looking for. When I installed heads cam and intake I installed Hughes 2800-3000 "NON LOCKUP" converter and went from 13.10's to 12.70's. But there was a draw back in installing the hughes converter. I got bad gas mileage. I am removing my AOD soon and will be selling my converter if you are interested let me know.

100.00. I paid 300.00 plus from Gotelli's about three years ago. The converter has about 10k miles on it. I think I got around 10 miles to the gallon. PM me if you have any other questions.
