How do you bypass the smog pump using a shorter belt on my '94 5.0? I'm running ASP underdrive pulleys, and AC if that makes any difference, and if possible do you have the short belt part number?

ummm...guys's, do know that the belt tensioner goes right above the smog pump, not like the 86-93's. The inside of the belt (ribbed) comes of the top water pump pulley (smooth) down to the smog pump (ribbed) and over the (smooth) tensioner and around the (ribbed) alternator.....This would be sooo much easier with a digital camara!!!.......So its not about just getting a shorter belt , its about being able to still use the belt tensioner.....If you guy's have done it with just a shorter belt what side of the tensioner did you use?????

Hey what's up Rob? All I can really tel you is what I use and that is a 59 inch belt. My belt grabs the alt., idler pullie, water pump, crank, then tensioner.
The best thing to do would be to go to a Autozone or something along those lines and try out belts until you find the exact one you need.

Hey Guy's/Drew, I got confused and didnt think you could run the belt over the waterpump. No matter what, if the smooth side of the belt is on the waterpump pulley it's still goin the right direction. 885k6 was a little small, I went with an 890k6 worked great!!Thanx!!

I *just* got this to work for the first time with trial and error and my stack of shortbelts.
Didn't pick up any power though with the bypassed smogpump, but no big surprise there. my motor has is a 94 cobra and running 94 cobra front dress (for a few more days anyways)
