That lists Borg Warner #'s, not the Ford #'s. Still looking for a cross ref.

Well the tranny is in another state.. I need a new setup pretty soon.. Not sure how longer this AOD will last.. Here is the deal this guy gave me Transmission, shifter, clutch fork, bell housing, clutch cable, flywheel, block plate, thro out bearing.. The trany has around 70,000 on it he claims he has ran nothing but synthetic fluid in it and he baybed it... He wants 750.00 shipped to my door.. What do you guys think??? Its allso out of a 1990gt...I guess all I would have to get is pilot bearing, clutch, and pedal assembly and I would have evrything I need...

It looks like its the first "T5Z". It came out back when I was dreaming of owning a 5.O (mid to late 90's if I remember right) so chances are it has good amount of miles on it.
Feel free to ask any AOD to T5 question you have.... but since I've "Been there, done that", let me tell you that if you're planning on going 11's or faster... KEEP THE AOD. I know I'm rebuilding my AOD and putting it back in some day.
The biggest regret of my T5 swap? Not getting the Tremec 3550 instead

I thought about keeping my AOD but I have heard to many stories about rebuilding them and then going out again 4months later... Only thing that scares me about it.. So I figure might as well do it right all at once.. If I do go through with this I will be asking alot of questions.. I have found some pretty helpfull sights though..

Ike, If he isn't BSing you, then that is a good deal for all the parts. Used T5's go locally for over $700 out of the special service jy's. The pedal swap is a pain, bu the car is a blast to drive. If you don't power shift it, it will last. Just check out Project 11.99 on Fordmuscle- JY T5, Over 100 passes, best to date: 11.80's at 117, easy shifting. Yes we expect it to die, but it hasn't, yet.

Is he claiming its a factory tranny? The 7003's were never put into any car in the factory. They were strictly an aftermarket tranny. [ December 09, 2002, 10:43 AM: Message edited by: st5150 ]

Yup. Predecessor to the T5Z from Ford Motorsport.
