I was wondering if anybody know what the clearance is on some AFR185's on a 302 with stock 90 pistons, with a stock cam? And when I stick a Cam in how much is the Clearance need to be?

I'm no expert but from what I know you have to mess with the pistons to make it clear. That is what everyone told me when I was considering picking them up, hope that helps.

yerp, it's a given that you'll need to notch them. Notching pistons is not an incredible ordeal, there's a couple specific tools for it, some you can rent. Others, well, you can attach to your Makita and go for it! [patriot]

Should be a very interesting combo... stock cam with AFR185's. What intake are you running with it? There is a small, but decent chance you may clear the stock pistons with 1.6 rockers. I remember hearing this about a set of "straight" 2.02 valve heads and a stock cam, but I don't remember if they were AFR185's or not.

Sawson- Edelbrock RPM intake, and he'll be getting a cam too. Just as $$$ permits. The combo will be fairly stout. I'd expect 350/350 ish out of it when complete. Cam something around 224/224 .555/.555 109 LSA 111 ICL rough idea that came to mind. Or my first one on a 109 LSA.
