alright..this is the story...i was working on my 89 GT and i was going to torque down my rocker arms cause i have a ticking. anyways...when i take off the valve covers, i look at the rockers and think...holy shit! those are bigger than i thought. and theres a number on them...1.72 so i think..hmm isnt stock 1.6? i thiink so so i have aftermarket rocker arms. but heres my question...why would i have 1.72 rocker arms on stock heads?! and stock cam..as far as i know they are stock. is there any way to tell if i have aftermarket heads cause i couldnt find a name anywhere on the heads? what good would these arms do for stock?! any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated [Smile]

1.7 rockers would give the stock cam more lift thus more power. A lot of people put 1.7 rockers on there stock heads and stock cam. It just gives a little more lift.

besides the fact that I was told not to put 1.72's on an aftermarket cam cause it would give the cam too much lift. I hear with aftermarket cams that you should go with aluminum 1.6's. Sounds like those 1.72's should work perfect on your car. [worship]
