I would like to put a six speed in my fox mustang. I can get a camero T56 for cheep. I would like to know if it will work and how much it will cost. I would think a T56 is A T56 no matter what car its in. Any info will help.

6- speed T-56s are cool, but do you really need TWO different overdrives?
The 0.63 or 0.68 in the T5 or the 3550/TKO/3650 is pretty decent, IMHO. I believe 6th in a T-56 is 0.5:1 and 5th is like 0.6x :1
I dunno, I've always thought that overdrives, in general, are for wussies ![[worship]](graemlins/worship.gif)

Yeah I know Chris with the blue 5.0. I watched him race hella times. I used to meet up with you guys at Winchell's. I used to drive that black 93 hach back. I'm Tesconi's boy. My T5 has seen better days it pops out of second and sings to me in third. I can get it built for $650 with all the tremic parts. But my friend has a camero with 411 and a T56 and I fell in love with it when I drove it. My car has 355 now and it does well on the freeway. But 373 with a T56 would sure be nice. 90 mph and like 2000 rpm's ![[worship]](graemlins/worship.gif)

I put a t-56 in my '91 LX. I had a Tremec TKO in it before. It's nice 4-5 shifts on the freeway. You can ask the red Viper(license plate "EXTRME") if you ever see him. As far as a swap, the bell housing is obviously different. It's actually two pieces. I had to loosen one long tube to bet the first part in. The tranny crossmember is 3 inches farther back. I used '95 Cobra tranny brackets on the rails and '95 Cobra tranny crossmember. The brackets welded right behind the existing mounts(bolts still went through the old holes). D&D makes a kit to swap over but it is more expensive to get. They also want you to buy a longer speedo cable. I talked to Griggs when I got the tranny and they said to rerout the cable and it worked. The driveshaft length also needs to be shortened I believe 3 inches. That's pretty much it. The t-56 is nice for the freeway, but if your doing more dragging, the TKO might be the better choice. Oh yeah, my t-56 whines like Harolds.
