Put in 30lb injectors yesterday in the 97 cobra. Started the car, and everything was cool. It runs fine, but when I take it out of gear, the idle drops way low and shuts off. Anyone know what the problem could be???? What I should do???? I didn't change anything else but the injectors. Is there something else I need to put in? Fuel pump? Filter?.................Help

did you change the MAF if not then thats the problem see the MAF is meant to control fuel and if you have bigger injectors then what the MAF is calibrated for then when you run at low rpms it runs rich

It's got a 87mm pro-M. Just so I understand, MAF is the mass air meter right? Would the 87mm with 30lb injectors work well? Is this the problem?

yes mass air meter that would work fine if it is calibrated to use with 30# but if its calibrated for the stock injectors then no thats why you have a problem couse the MAF is telling the driver(in the injector) to push like it had stock injectors wich inter pumps more fuel couse they are 30's wich are bigger

Send your MAF back to PRO-M to get re-calibrated for 30 lbs injectors for a '97 cobra, or just buy a new one.
Taking a step back- why did you upgrade from 24 to 30 lbs injectors in the first place???
The stock 24 lbs injectors are good for 300 rwhp with the stock regulator and I've never seen or heard of an all motor '96-98 cobra around here making 300 RWHP!

I don't know what the stock size is. We've got a bunch of brand new parts for this Cobra and 30lbs was one of the things he ordered. I have no idea why, this is just what he ordered. I just assisted in the assembly. So he'll have to send it back to Pro-M for re-calibration? Also, the check engine light has come on.....it is because of this 87 mass right?
Just to answer, we've got a few little triks up our sleeves for this cobra Javi, can't say just yet, but I'll let you know when we're finished. We've added a Venom team to Stallions. It consists as of now a 97 & 98 Cobra.

wait did he already have the MAF or did he buy it with the injectors
but yea you would need to take it to apex and have him send it back to get recalbrated
also if your adding a power adder dont for get and get a adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a 255 intank fuel pump and if needed a inline depending how much power you plan to make

He bought together 1. 87mm MAF 2. 30lb. injectors 3. Fuel filter(not sure on brand or size)
It should have been calibrated to 30 when he bought it right? I asked him if he told the guy his setup and he says yes. When you order the maf and injectors wouldn't they know what to calibrate it for if he bought them together? He says the car runs fine, just that the "check engine" light is on and the ilde drops and shuts off every once in a while.

Just got off the phone with him. He said he just called Brothers Perfomance and they are telling him that the maf IS calibrated to 30lb'ers. What else could it be? Maybe we missed a hose on the re-assembly?

hmm well if its calibrated then you might want to check your connections maybe you have a vacum not connected or you could have the air inlet tube thats migh have a leak also
recheck your connections
also try resetting the computer just disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes maybe that will help
