Is it possible to install a cobra motor into a Mustang GT without swapping the stock GT transmission?

I know on the 5 liters it does not matter. Is this a modular car? To be honest, I am almost positive that it does not matter. Ford wnats to keep bellhousings and such all the same for replacement parts and for the aftermarket world. You will get some more posts today and people will let you know with more positivity. BTW, if it is a 93-95, you will have no problems.

the motor will fit no doubt, but im not sure if ford used a different tranny with the new cobras, Im pretty sure its gonna take a 96-98 tranny out of a cobra to get the swap done.

The 4.6 T45's will all fit. The cobra tranny however are a bit better built. They have full roller bearings inside and such. Now if you use a tranny from a 99+ then you need an older tailshaft and internal speedo gear...
Hope this helps...

Remember to take into account the cobras use hydroboost brakes, where as the Gt use the standard vacuum assisted. Youll have to swap in the hydraulic brake setp if you do a cobra motor (not enough room for the booster)
