Actually it went TERRIBLE!!!! I have some questions for you because I'm running into trouble. The car is running VERY rough. It started a couple days ago when the motor was cold and seemed to go away when warmed up. Well yesterday it did it again when cold. Then felt ok when warmed up. After my first pass I accidentally killed the car and it had a hard time restarting. It took a good 3-4 cranks to get it up and going and then it felt ok again. Then made another run and on the return road it just had a dead tone in the exhaust like it wasn't running right. It 'seemed' to go away again and then on my last pass it just fell on it's face and I aborted the run. It had a VERY bad miss. It still does and now doesn't go away. I pulled all the plugs and the #3 plug was fouled out but all others looked ok. I then changed the #3 plug and fired her back up and I have the same miss. I kept the car running long enough to build a little heat in the exhaust. I turned it off and then went to check every header tube. I dropped a droplet of water onto every header tube and cylinder #1,5,8 are the only ones that sizzled the water off. Some of the others made a mild sizzle and number 3 didn't do squat. The car is still tough to start and takes a few good crankings to get it going. Just wondering if it sounds like the rockers are out of adjustment or if it's possibly head gaskets. There are no visible vacuum leaks or weird noises. No liquid leaks and good oil pressure. The motor just has a bad miss. Sometimes you can hear the gas ignite in the pipes and it sputters and will kill itself if it idles too long on it's own. Any ideas on what it could be??? Anyway the #'s weren't good. The track was greasy like they mistook the water box for the launch pad and the mid 90 heat didn't help. Trap speeds were only 109-110.5. Not nearly what I'm looking for. No ice was used. Another note: Byron made a comment to me about the rockers being a little loud and to run through them again. Anyway I just want to get it up and running again and get it back out there and make some clean runs and get the 112-114's I'm looking for. I won't run it again in this heat, that's for sure.

Dude that sucks. More or less the same experience I had on monday. Lots of 'shoulda' 'woulda' and 'coulda's'. At least you weren't the guy (like me) running 12's @ 102!!! aaagghh!

at least I got a decent 330' pass out of it!

my only guess is to verify the injectors on the cylinders that weren't responding with steam when you dropped water on 'em. That or a sanity compression check.

could always unplug the MAF completely and see if they start firing then.

oh the joys of EFI [Mad]

on my car, I went over my plug wires with an ohmeter and damnit all to hell, #3 was completely open. [Mad] mad: [Mad] [worship]

I'm gonna try making sure the Wires are connected to the plugs securely. They've been on/off the plugs many times and could be loose. Me crosses fingers [Confused] I hate the coulda/woulda/shoulda. It was a HUGE let down last night. I'm sure things will get better. For both of us [Big Grin]

Joe brings up a good point. While you have the wires off, use an OHM meter to measure the resistance of the wires. They should read less than about 15K OHMS per foot.

they should be really close to 50 ohm per foot(for good wires), 15k sounds rediculous!

my manual says 7k-10k for OEM specs (per foot)

remember V=IR?

in this case, a nice high R = high V (what you want)

50 ohms would have you sparking not much higher than the primary side of the coil.
